Amy Schumer has been spreading body positivity, self love, and confidence via social media – and we love it! She also spoke out this year about being comfortable and happy with with her “between a size 6 and an 8” frame (and mentioned that she is not plus size).
We talked to Amy’s trainer, Harley Pasternak, who helped her get into shape for her role in Trainwreck. Harley worked with Amy so closely, and was blown away by how active she is, even outside the training studio. “I’m very, very proud of her,” he told us. “She transformed herself.” Here are some fitness facts about Amy, and how she stays healthy!
- She was an aerobics instructor in college. Amy has been into fitness for years! “She’s amazing . . . people don’t realize, she’s super fit!” said Harley. She was an aerobics instructor in college, and as Harley put it, “she will run circles around people.”
- Her activity isn’t just in the gym. “Amy lives by the idea ‘strong in the gym, lean in life,'” said Harley. “She keeps her workout with us super brief, and stays active through the rest of the day.”
- She’s always on the move. Amy forgoes getting a private car service, and walks everywhere! “When she was training with us for Trainwreck, she put on her Fitbit and walked super far to the studio, walked to a cool hike, and then walked back to her hotel.” Amy even works while she walks, rolling her calls while she goes from place to place. “She gets 15K steps done in the first half of her day, and does a whole morning’s worth of work. She’s a busy woman. If she can do it, anyone can.”
