There’s something about a good Disney movie that will always make me feel like I’m a little kid again. It may be the legendary and uplifting characters or the happily ever after plot lines, but it’s most definitely the sing-along music. (Yes, I’m certain of it!) And, if we’re trying to make a workout more fun, sweating to songs from some of our favorite animated Disney films would definitely do the trick.
Canfitpro-certified personal trainer Emily Thorne has choreographed a 25-minute Disney HIIT workout with Tabata-style segments that build strength, get your heart rate up, and incorporate dance moves (no burpees necessary!). As she has in the past, she teamed up with the That Disney Girl YouTube channel for this video. The amazing lineup includes, in this order: “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” from The Lion King, Lilo & Stitch‘s “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride,” Aladdin‘s “Friend Like Me,” “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid, and a “Let It Go” remix courtesy of Frozen.
If you’re not a dancer, no problem! Some of the moves incorporate exercises like squats, jump squats, lunge jumps, and jumping jacks – and you’ll only alternate between two different choreographed sections during each song. Plus, Thorne will walk you through everything before the next track starts.
