February 6, 2021Athletes, Dance, Documentaries, NetflixBy Sydni Ellis

Grace, strength, flexibility, power – all words that can be used to describe these stunning videos from Jenyne Butterfly, a pole dancer and aerialist recently featured in the Netflix documentary Strip Down, Rise Up. Jenyne is a legend in the pole community. She was the first US Pole Dance champion, performed with Cirque du Soleil for several years, and has taught pole and aerial workshops in more than 50 countries, among other accolades.

But what comes through when watching Jenyne – especially in her more intimate videos dancing from home during the COVID-19 pandemic – is the sheer happiness she has found in being a pole athlete. We’ve rounded up 11 of her most thrilling and beautiful videos, including some recent ones filmed during her pregnancy. Prepare to be inspired!
