“There is something special about having great workout gear.” Carrie Underwood‘s passion for beautiful activewear bubbled through the phone when we talked to her last week. She told us how she wanted to create a collection that made women feel beautiful and ready for anything, and with that in mind, she created her fitness apparel line, Calia Studio. The Calia concept came from her desire to find stylish, feminine, and functional pieces, something she said was missing from the market. “It was hard to find things that I liked that also performed well,” she said. “There were things that were super sporty but not feminine or pretty, or things that were really pretty but didn’t do anything.”
When she decided to make her own collection with Dick’s Sporting Goods, she had finally created something she loved: pieces that made her feel her best and work out even harder, whether she’s doing Tabata on breaks from tour or going for a run outside. “You put it on, you feel good about yourself, and it makes you want to go do something that much more,” she said.
Her favorite pieces are ones that are transitional, which is evident in the versatility of her collection. “Being able to have those things that transition so well – you can throw on a sweater and you’re ready for whatever. It’s nice to look good and have things that actually function well.” Check out some of her favorite picks from the Spring collection, swim included!
